SNA Kills 50 militants in Mudug
Muqdisho January 07, 2024 (QJ) -The Somali National Army, collaborating with international allies, has carried out operations resulting in the elimination of 26 members of Al-Shabaab in a military offensive.
The operation took place near the Jeex-Jeex region in the Mudug province, where Al-Shabaab had established bases to launch attacks on both government forces and local communities.
The Somali National Army, alongside international partners, successfully conducted two simultaneous operations targeting both land and air assets, resulting in the neutralization of more than 50 militants.
The military offensive also led to the liberation of territories previously under Al-Shabaab control. The Somali government has confirmed these recent developments.
Furthermore, reports indicate that a vehicle loaded with Al-Shabaab militants was destroyed during the operations.
The Federal Government has recently announced that further operations in the Mudug region will continue, with a specific focus on clearing Al-Shabaab from areas within the Galmudug administration’s jurisdiction.
