Somali PM rejects Ethiopia, Somaliland Sea port Agreement
Mogadishu January 02, 2024 (SD) -The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Ms. Hamza Abdi Barre, emphasized the urgent need for the protection of Somalia’s land, sea, and air, warning against any threats to Somalia’s waters.
In an emergency meeting held today with the Council of Ministers on Ethiopia’s encroachment on Somalia’s waters, the Prime Minister stated that the government is fully prepared to defend the country.
He called on the Somali people to unite and remain vigilant, stressing that they will not allow any infringement on the nation’s sovereignty. The Prime Minister assured that the government will use all legal means to protect the country and urged citizens to be prepared to defend Somalia at all costs.
Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre emphasized that this is not a time for division, and the government is determined to lead the nation in defending its territorial integrity. He urged the Somali people and politicians to come together, emphasizing that the defense of the country is a shared responsibility.
