UN: Israel is targeting Schools and Hospitals

Gaza November 16, 2023 (QJ)-The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) has stated that Israel is carrying out attacks on UNRWA schools, providing shelter to displaced Palestinians. Philippe Lazzarini mentioned that Israeli forces attacked several schools in Gaza and the West Bank, violating international laws.

Israeli forces also attacked the Tulkarem and Nur Shams areas near the West Bank, demolishing UNRWA school premises. Israel has been accused of deliberately targeting schools and hospitals, leading to civilian casualties. The head of UNRWA recently held a press conference, stating that they fear a deterioration of the situation in Gaza.

He mentioned that over 800,000 people in Israel-besieged areas are at risk of losing their lives due to the escalating violence. UNRWA is actively supporting schools in Gaza, which have now become shelters for the displaced Palestinian population due to Israeli actions.

Lazzarini also highlighted the challenges in providing essential services and the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Gaza. The head of UNRWA accused Israel of systematically undermining their relief efforts.
