Somalia: SNA and Local forces take back Burujeed district

Mogadishu October 16, 2023 (QJ) -Government forces and local militia have launched extensive military operations in the Burujeed area, near Guriceel district in Galgaduud region, following yesterday’s terrorist attacks carried out by Al-Shabaab.

These forces, equipped with various types of military vehicles and weaponry, have entered the vicinity of Burujeed, securing the areas close to the town.

They have cut off the militant group’s supply lines, which connect the Guriceel and Ceelbuur districts in Galgaduud region.

Military officials have informed the media that this operation is a response to the recent Al-Shabaab attacks in Burujeed.

Their primary objective is to cleanse the areas from potential threats posed by the terrorist group.
It is reported that these operations will continue for several days, extending to various regions and districts in the eastern part of Galgaduud, including Ceelbuur, Galhareeri, Dac, Barkaan, and others.

The latest reports from the Burujeed area of Galgaduud region indicate that the military forces are still actively engaging in these operations, with the intention of pushing Al-Shabaab out of multiple nearby areas.
