President Hassan signs 8 bills into law

Mogadishu March 21, 2023(QJ) – The President of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, held a ceremony at the Presidential Palace to commemorate the adoption of 8 laws by both houses of Parliament, including the Anti-Terrorism Act, the Somali Immigration and Citizenship Agency Establishment Law, the Immigration Law, the Public Data Protection Act, the Law on the Management of Resources, the Investment and Investor Protection Law, the Law on Identification and Public Registration and the Somali Fisheries Development and Management Law.

President Hassan Sheikh thanked the leadership and members of both houses of the Federal Parliament for their hard work in passing these important laws, which he said are crucial to the governance and institutionalization of the Somali state.

The President of the Republic also congratulated the Government and the Somali people on the preparation of the laws, saying that they represent a new chapter in Somalia’s history, as they are some of the most important laws adopted in recent years.
