Fighting erupts in Lasanod for second day

Feb 07, 2023 (QJ) – A fierce battle between the Somaliland and SSC forces has re-erupted today in the city of Laascaanood in the Sool region. It is reported that this battle is stronger than yesterday’s, with various casualties reported on both sides.

The battle is now taking place in the Buurta Sayidka area, where the majority of the casualties took place yesterday between the conflicting parties.

The extent of the damage from the ongoing battle in Laascaanood is still unknown, but it is reported that more than 50 people, mostly from the conflicting parties, died yesterday in the fighting.

Health officials in Lasanod report that 38 people have died in the fighting so far, with 132 others injured as confirmed by them. There are also other hospitals with casualties and bodies, some of which are in other cities.
