ATMIS to investigate the killing of a civilian

Feb 04, 2023 (QJ) – The African Union Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) released a statement regarding the killing of a young man yesterday at Ceel-grab ambulance station in the city of Mogadishu.

The young man who was killed was among the street children, some of whom are known as drunks. Community members who were outraged by the killing of the young man at Ceelgaab station demonstrated against ATMISOM.

In a statement released ATMIS claimed that the young man first threw an unknown object at their forces and then tried to mount their vehicle, which led the forces to open fire. ATMIS stated that they will conduct an investigation into the killing.
