Puntland State of Somalia severs relations with the Federal Government

Garowe- President of Puntland state of Somalia Abdiweli Gaas responded negatively to the establishment of a new state in mid Somalia by the central Government.

Mr. Gaas said that the formation of the state violates the Somali charter which is supposed to guide the formation of new states in Somalia.

Puntland recalled all of its members of the Somali institutions and also severed the all cooperation’s with the central government.

Puntland is upset that the new State in middle Somalia annexes part of its territory in the province of Mudug.

Both the Somali President and the Prime minister were present at formation ceremony for the new Somali provincial state.
