Somali-land politicians are accustomed to standing-by criticism from the media against the government right or wrong

The policy of blaming the victim is very harmful and presumption of innocence without evidence or the background of the dilemma is destructive to the society. The politicians who are standby criticizing the government for dispute between two parties (the government and someone committed unlawful act) is very harmful as it encourages the public to continue unlawful activities which may threat to our national security. It is immoral to speak against an issue accused to someone prior acquainting the truth of the subject issue of concern. With respect to the case of Haatuf news paper editor, when Mr. Gaboobe haa failed to lobby on his self interest from the government, he used as weapon to punish the minister who reject his unlawful demand. It is revealed to the public that Mr. Gaboobe was broker for unknown company that was after exploration rights to Somali-land. As acknowledged and informed by the energy minster all the attempts for Mr. Gaboobe either through the government or the by the influence from the minster’s relatives have concluded into dead end and therefore we should bring to a close the culture speaking for an issue which we do not know its sources.

Victim blaming occurs when the victim of a misdeed any wrongful act is held entirely or partially responsible for the harm that befell them. Blaming the victim describes the attempt to escape responsibility by placing the blame for the crime the hands of the victim.  Denying the victim rights is anti social and anti -Islamic. We should learn the culture of constructive criticism. The aim of constructive criticism is to see a change for the better the issue criticized, but when someone criticizes another person but cannot pinpoint what is actually wrong; this can be considered unhelpful and negative. The intention of constructive criticism is not to build up but to pull down. Critics can sometimes be ruthless in passing unfavorable judgment on the qualities, character or work of a person. Many times they are insensitive to the demoralizing effects of their words on the person criticized. Criticism can be justified when one has done something wrong or behaved badly. But it is unjustified when someone merely picks on another person for no evidence, or out of personal pique. Below are basic guidelines to adapt at the time of criticizing for an issue or deeds. It should be to point out a fault without destroying a person’s self esteem.

The end result must be to bring about a change that improves the subject matter. The person should be sufficiently knowledgeable about the subject which has come under criticism. There should be genuine concern for the other person. A generous critic will bring out the best in the person criticized. Destructive Criticism is Unjustifiable and unfruitful.Sometimes certain people derive pleasure from criticizing others. It may be due to jealousy of someone in a better position vis-à-vis education, wealth, power or influence. The critic may not have a clue about the problem or may have his own blinkered view of it. Many things may not be acceptable to him because of his lack of knowledge. Criticizing somebody in the presence of others may be to gain popularity. Certain schemes or practices are criticized because whatever is new or unfamiliar is feared. People in leadership positions are sometimes targets of criticism right or wrong.Wise-man is the man who takes down bricks thrown at him and builds a strong foundation. Have a positive self image. Never let criticism rile you or put you on the defensive. Use discernment in how you handle criticism. Accept the challenge. Look for the reason why you are criticized. Have a positive attitude to someone who offers constructive criticism He may help you overcome your faults.

Do not rush to change just because someone has criticized you. Don’t harbour resentment against those who genuinely point out your defects. Make an honest appraisal of yourself. Constructive criticism promotes personal growth. It should be used as a tool for improvement, but not contrary. Make changes where necessary. It teaches modesty. One cannot always be perfect, and it is alright to have flaws. Criticism is sometimes emotional than genuine. In conclusion, the person providing the productive criticism is acting as an agent of positive change for the issue of shared interest. The benefits of receiving constructive feedback are also important for the receiver as the degree of success is assured. In conclusion these politicians who accustomed standby criticism for any subject noticed through media against the government right or wrong have lost public trust in view of their partially and denying the rights of the victim.
