People Tell Corruption Hits the Identification Cards Office of Somali Government
People in Mogadishu have spoken out that wider corruption has overshadowed on the office responsible for providing the national identification cards to the citizens.
Some of the people who have registered to obtain their ID Cards have explained a wicked stories of corruption and mismanagement that has spread into the corners of the offices which located inside the Mogadishu Local Government‘s building.
“I have returning forth and back for more than a week and still I have not received my ID card” said a young man who has not revealed his name.
People are told to arrive earky mornibg at the office and they are queued up in front of the office, but only those who pay extra money are given access to reach the office and get their ID Cards simply while those who do not pay the extra money are left behind.
The issue has now come to the attentrion of the local media but the officials of the local municipality denied the complaints from the people.
