Somaliland: House of Representatives Passes Police Bill –(Video)

Hargeisa, Oct 06, 2013 (SDN) -Somaliland’s House of Representatives has on Saturday unanimously passed Police bill, which went through the second reading after the house of elders made few amendments to the bill.  Forty nine MP’s have attended the session chaired chairman Abdirahman Abdilahi Ismail “Cirro” and once the voting commenced the police passed with thirty five votes in favor to 8 against, with 13 abstention and three refrains.The police bill took and long and heated debates in the house where some legislators called for a separation between the civilian officers from the interior ministry and the police command.
Meanwhile, the legislators also voted in favor of a new motion tabled by 14 members of the house stating that each member of the house should donate one hundred US dollar of his salary to the construction of Buroa-Erigavo road.

In last week Somaliland President Ahmed Mohamed Mohamoud Silanyo has appointed commission chaired by presidency minister Hirsi Ali Haji Hassan to raise funds for the construction of the 375km road between Erigavo and Buroa.
