President Silanyo Attends University of Hargeisa Graduation Ceremony-(Photos)

Hargeisa, Sep 29, 2013 (SDN) -Somaliland President Ahmed Mohamed Mahmoud Silanyo was the guest of honor at a graduation ceremony held for 744 students, the tenth batch to graduate from the various faculties of University of Hargeisa which was held today at the University campus in Hargeisa. President Silanyo speaking during the Graduation ceremony congratulated the graduates from nine of the eleven faculties for successful completion of their various first-degree studies.

President Silanyo also lauded the graduating students for the hard work and diligence and that they are expected to become leaders in their communities and public services and capable of becoming fully competitive in all sectors and that they are the future of this country hence the need for them to be ingenious when it comes to employment, he also urged local enterprises to invest in local talents.

During his speech President Silanyo revealed that the government would continue to employ the highest number possible from the graduates while enhancing alternate job creation efforts.

The Hargeisa University colleges that graduated the 744 include Medicine, Midwifery, Conflict Resolution, Law, Economics, Administration, Finance etc.

According to the chairperson of the Hargeisa university board of trustees/ cum minister of planning Dr Saad Ali Shire, the increase of graduate citizens translate to a reduction in national illiteracy levels.

The Education Minister Hon Zamzam Abdi Aden informed on how pleased she was to attend such a big graduation ceremony that comes in the heels of a recent one at Amoud University. She urged the graduates to utilize their newly acquired knowledge and skills in developing the nation.

Other speakers at the ceremony that saw a large number of participants included the Vice Chancellor of Hargeisa University Dr Abdi Hussein Gas and leaders of the UCID and Kulmiye political parties  Feisal Ali Warabe and Musa Bihi respectively.
