Somalia: It’s a Hard Task to Prevent Violation of Human Rights – PM Shirdon
Mogadishu Aug 22, 2013 (SDN) — The prime minister of the federal republic of Somalia Abdi Farah Shirdon has raised concerns of human rights violations in Somalia. “A lot of weapons out there and Alshababs presence in some parts of the country are the factors that contribute to increased violation of human rights” said Mr. Shirdon.
The prime minister added that his government was ready and committed to protect its citizens from such violations.
Mr. Shirdon also addressed other factors that contributed to the injustices such as the ever changing political atmospheres since the collapse of the central government and damages done to innocent civilians by the past powers.
However, the prime minister reiterated that his government has shade a bright future for the innocent civilians for allowing citizens to participate freely in political matters.
The prime minister finally said that human right violations have reduced by 50% since the new government has taken office from the transitional government.
