Somaliland: President Silanyo Hosts Fiqi Fuliye Traditional Leaders

Hargeisa, Aug 20, 2013 (SDN) — Somaliland president Ahmed Mohamed Mohamoud “Siilaanyo” met a delegation from Fiqi Fuliye District in eastern Sanaag region at the presidency in Hargeisa on Tuesday morning. The delegation led by Islan Garad Abdilahi Mohamed Guled consisted of Chiefs, intellectuals and elders of Fiqi Fuliye District in eastern Sanaag.
Also in attendance were Somaliland government officials including Vice-President Abdirahman Zaylici.

Initially, Somaliland President Ahmed Mohamed Mohamoud “Siilaanyo” who gave the opening remarks to the delegation after a presidential breakfast, discussed about the progress of the ongoing peace process in Sool and Sanag regions and how inclusive participation could be achieved.

On their side, the Fiqi Fuliye District traditional elders elaborated the recent developments in the region including the ongoing peace process of the region.

In last month over 600-strong armed men with 13 armored vehicles of Khaatumo rebels joined the national armed forces in a ceremony held for Fiqifuliye, 80km south east of Erigavo in Sanaag.
