PM Hamse celebrates ATMIS anniversary
Mogadishu April 01, 2023 (QJ) – Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Hamse Abdi Barre, who attended a celebration marking the first anniversary of the transition from AMISOM to (ATMIS), has praised the country’s progress in achieving peace and stability.
Speaking at the event, the Prime Minister highlighted the success of the DanQaran government in securing more than 70 towns and villages in three key regions, which are now under the control of the Somali security forces, who are working to rebuild the country’s foundations.
“We are committed to seeing a new, prosperous, and stable Somalia that is free from debt, Al-Shabaab, and political turmoil. We are determined to realize our strategic objectives,” said the Prime Minister.
The government, which is engaged in a three-front war against Al-Shabaab, claims to have made significant progress in recent months, with the Prime Minister noting the remarkable strides made by the Somali security forces.
He also noted that Somalia is ready to welcome international partners and friends to work with ATMIS and support the country’s continued progress and peacebuilding efforts.
