Youth participation in leadership has dramatically broaden, since the present government holding in office
Do young people participate enough in leadership? Is there a general upward trend of youth interest in politics?. Are there too many competing interests for their attention? In earlier governments, the response is not at all and at present the answer twice yes. Although the independence of Somali-land dates back almost 23 years past, however, the youth participation in politics and leadership was absent before present government. In the past, in event any young man attempts to look a job, it was conditional to look a traditional elder to lobby on behalf of him for employment, which many times resulted UN-supportive and gloomy results. That practice had led many Somali-land youth loses patriotism.
However, that awful practice has come to end, since the current government hold the leadership in 2010. We have witnessed many youthE leaders been appointed in various levels of authorities and the last one is nomination of young man possibly under the age of 30 as the director for the Ministry of Civil Aviation. Since the last 2-3 years, we have witnessed plenty of nominations of similar nature. This week, I was inspired by an event held this in Hargeisa/Dalxiis Hotel, which tens of youths celebrated and pleased with nomination of the new Director General the above ministry.
In reality, that occurrence has captured the hearts and minds of any true citizen and we are certain that many more like this will follow suit soon or laer long taken the new strategy adapted by the current government, which have already gained successive achievement in various domains for human development. In conclusion the continuity of this policy will certainly create new young generations that will lead Somali-land in the future.
