UK and US forces target Houthi positions in Yemen
London May 31, 2024 (QJ) -The US and UK military announced that they conducted airstrikes against Houthi targets in Yemen on Thursday, aiming to prevent the group from further disrupting Red Sea shipping lanes. Houthi media reported that at least 13 people were killed in these strikes.
The US Central Command issued a statement indicating that American and British forces targeted 13 Houthi-controlled sites. The UK Ministry of Defence specified that the joint operation focused on three locations in the port city of Hudaydah, targeting areas that housed drones and various types of weapons.
Houthi-run Al Masirah TV reported that at least 13 people were killed and 10 others injured in the airstrikes, which included attacks on a radio station in the Al-Hawk district of Hudaydah. According to Houthi media, there were a total of 13 strikes, with six of them occurring in the capital city of Sana’a.
