UK Aid Agencies Delegation arrives in Somaliland: Video

HARGEISA— A delegation organized by the Charity Forum in the UK arrives in Hargeisa today. Foreign affairs minister from Somaliland authority has greeted the delegation at Egal airport upon arrival.

Among-st the organization that arrive in Somaliland are Muslim Hands, Islamic Relief, Human Appeal, African Relief Fund and Charity Right.

Ms. Diana Abbott, the first black woman to have a seat in the House of Commons is leading the delegation.

Speaking on behalf, Ms. Abbott said that she is delighted at our welcome and we are looking forward to talking to people on the ground.

She went on to say that she will find what more could be done to support Somaliland.

Mr. Hani, speaking on behalf of Charity organization visiting Somaliland said the mission is a fact finding one which aims to highlight the suffering of Somaliland people due to the drought that hit the rural areas in the country.

Mr. Hani has said that this is not his first visit to Somaliland but has been in the country in 2010.

Nomads in Somaliland lost most of their precious livestock due to the drought that stricken most regions in the country.

Somaliland authority sent messages to the international aid agencies to respond to the catastrophe.
