UAE against Netanyahu’s day after plan for Gaza

Dubai September 14, 2024 (QJ) -The United Arab Emirates has stated that they will not support Israel’s “day after” plan for Gaza unless a Palestinian state is established.

“The UAE is not prepared to support the day after the Gaza war without the establishment of a Palestinian state,” UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday.

In May, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu published a post-war plan for Gaza online, claiming that Palestinians “would enjoy unimaginable prosperity” once it was implemented.

The plan included investments in ports, solar energy, electric vehicle manufacturing, and the benefits of new gas discoveries in Gaza. The plan was outlined in three phases, from an unspecified “date of victory” until 2035.
