Turkish Ambassador to Somaliland & Somalia Arrives in Hargeisa

Hargeisa, 22 Nov 2013 (SM) -Turkish Ambassador to Somalia and Somaliland Ambassador Hani Torun has paid an official visit to Hargeisa, the capital of Somaliland on Friday. Torun met with cabinet members including minister of planning Dr. Sa’ad Ali Shire, saying that Turkey will help Somaliland on the areas of agricultural development.

This is the second visit in which Ambassador Hani Torun comes to Somaliland since his first visit in March 2012.

There is no official statement from the government about the purpose of the Turkish Ambassador to Somaliland and Somalia, but sources close to the presidency has told us that the visiting Turkish Ambassador will hold talks with president Silanyo and other government officials.

Turkey plays the mediator role of the ongoing Somaliland/Somalia talks where the third round of the talks will begin in December this year.
