The Somali Labour Party’s First Press Release

The following is the SomaliLabour Party’s First Press Release to the Somali public and to all Labour Party members in Somalia and at the Diaspora. It will be marked and recorded into the Party memorandum collections as well as the history of the SomaliLabour Party. 

Content of the Press Release:              SLP-PR/1-0001/23/12.2011 

Ladies and Gentlemen: 

This is to inform you that the Leadership of the party has had their first formal meeting, chaired by the founder and chairman of the party, and attended by the secretary general, the spokesperson, and members of the executive Committee of the Party. 

After lengthy briefings by the secretary general followed by additional comments by the executive Committee, the party leaders have unanimously agreed upon the following: 

1. That Somalia is a UN recognized transitional Government but considered as a failed State by almost all member States of The International Community.

 

2. That the Somali population are the victims of the decades old civil war that caused devastation and destruction of millions of Somali lives mainly undefended children, mothers, and seniors that have suffered too much and still are suffering.

 

3. That several attempts made by the International Community to end these sufferings and find a lasting peaceful solution for Somalia was failed because of several reasons mostly related to misunderstandings of the reality on the ground in Somalia by the International Community.

 
 

4. That all appointed so far transitional governments members  were mostly leaders of armed militiamen or so called by the International Community Warlords and their supporters or partners in business that for obvious reason were not ready for a lasting peace in Somalia where law and order must be respected could undermine their interest.

 

5. That natural and man made disasters have caused unprecedented sufferings and contributed much more to the starvation and death of another hundreds of thousand of already suffering population by the consequences of the prolonged wars, events that we have witnessed this year and the last one in which hundreds of thousands if not millions have lost every thing, sounding an international alarm that was responded immediately after a famine was declared by the UNHCR.

 

6. That another additional and collateral instability has been created in Somalia because of the lack of functioning government in Somalia that has paved the road for the establishment of Piracy armed religious groups with different principles and objectives. All have fueled and added more fire into the already existing catastrophe.

 

7. As a consequence of Piracy’s illegal actions major negative consequences occurred and are still occurring such as the disruption of all maritime industry and the sharp rise of all maritime transportation insurance premiums which caused an unprecedented increase in all product prices causing at the end of the day the current financial melt down of the World.

 

8. The Somali armed different religious groups are also contributors in the instability of Somalia not only because of their actions but because of their unwillingness to reconcile among them selves so to secure peace and trust first among them selves and among Somalis as whole since Islam is the only and predominant religion in Somalia for centuries.

 

9. The last but not the least very important reason to mention is the absolute lack of transparency and good governance alongside with a high degree of corruption and misappropriation by the TFG cabinet members, their admin staff, and the TFP from its Speaker to all its MPs, by the Judiciary system, the law enforcement agencies such as the Police and military that are looting the population at gun point , killing them at their choice and mercy, all because of lack of supervision and accountability by the International Community that is funding them.

 

Having considered all the above mentioned realities The Somali Labour Party has come up with the followings: 

1. Somalia needs to be saved from its own leaders appointed by the International Community without proper consultation with the people they claim to represent, and from all those armed militiamen with different shirts but same objective and weapon with the sole aim to keep hostage the Somali population at gun point so to continue their illegal business through the premeditated anarchic situation that was created by them and therefore benefit from it financially and politically.

 

2. The International Community should take a clearly transparent and accountable policy towards finding a lasting political solution for Somalia which is not only a moral obligation but also humanitarian responsibility, draw transparent and tangible Road Map so to achieve that goal and prevent repeating past mistakes.

 
 

3. Respecting the sovereignty and good neighboring relations with Kenya and Ethiopia, this party shall not support any kind of military invasion by the Somali neighboring countries, and calls for an immediate halt for those military interventions and an immediate withdrawal of their invading forces from Somalia because of the indiscriminate massacre inflicting to innocent people in their villages, towns, and in the Internally Displaced Refugee Camps as it happened in Jilib, Bardeera and other places in the Lower and Middle Jubba Regions.

 

4. Calls upon the International Community to send military Mission from Muslim Countries under the UN Security Council guidance and supervision with the mandate to make peace first and to keep it later, with very clear military mandate that shall consist in the disarmament of all Somali armed groups in general and indistinct way so to pave the road for a real reconciliation among unarmed Somalis that shall pose no threat to them selves as well as to their neighboring Countries. By conducting this disarmament it will facilitate the recovery of the lost trust among Somali Clans that are concerned about arms in the hands of rival Clan.

 

5. The Muslim countries military mission shall be completed within a period not exceeding Six months, and shall secure peace not only in the ground in Somalia but also in the sea shores which shall eliminate Piracy once for good God will, and by doing so Somalia’s prolonged Civil war shall end, neighboring countries concern must also end as well as their military intervention in the future also must end. After Six Month the Muslim Military mission must end and an immediate withdrawal of their troops must take place. This could consolidate and strengthen the trust of Somali population towards the military mission and shall be acceptable to all Somali Clans.

 

6. This party firmly condemns any act or omission that is directed to terrorize peaceful communities wherever it occurs, whenever and by whoever is committed. Stands and supports Peace and Cooperation among all mankind, respects and abides by the rule of law and regulations of all Countries as well as the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights reconciled with the Religion of the Country, tradition and good culture.

 

7. Respects democracy and Human Rights, good governance, and supports all efforts towards the achievement of peace, stability, and security in order to pave the straight road for a Peaceful World of ours, prosperity and progress in all aspects of life.

 

8. The SomaliLabour Party reminds all Somalis to first and foremost fear Allah the Almighty and obey his commandments not to trespass his divine rules of Law as mentioned in all his Holly Books generally and particularly in the Holly Qur’an that regulates all our needs and obligations among them to work for the safety of all mankind, to respect your neighbors, to help the needy, and to fulfill your obligations towards the five Pillars of Islam as well as the Six Pillars of Iiman (Trust in Allah).

 

9. Having said that this Party expresses its deep concern about the imposing process of Democracy imported from abroad to Countries that have established centuries of faith in Religion, culture, tradition and above all their Religion that might some how is not acceptable or compatible to their way of life. The Party has also its concern of the imported democracy from the Western Countries to Somalia because of the different ways of life, and because of the lessons that we have learned from History such as the reason for the collapse of Socialism and Communism, the current Arab Spring Actions and the World Financial Meltdowns.

 

10. In order to Stop Somalia wars and disasters this Party calls upon the Good Will International Community to come together and support the recently announced by David Cameron UK PM Conference to be held in London UK on the coming 23^rd February 2012, to join efforts and work together in order to find lasting solution for Somalia which shall also benefit them to contain instability in the East African Region as well as to safeguard the World maritime trade, tourism and all other business industries from the danger of Somali and Regional Piracy.

 

11. The last but not the least The SomaliLabour Party expresses and sends its condolence to all those Somalis and not Somalis who have lost their loved ones, mothers, fathers, children, brothers, sisters, ants , uncles, friends and grand parents not to forget neighbors , and colleagues in the two decade old brutal and inhuman Civil Wars, those who have lost all their properties, and are Refugees around the Globe or are Internally displaced in Somalia suffering with hunger, decease, rape , genital mutilations, and so forth. We pray Allah SWT for all Somalis to forgive our SINS, to make us understand our situation and needs, to conduct us to the Righteous path to Peace and true Reconciliation and to end the enmity among us, amen.
