The Israeli government approved a plan to “promote population growth” in the occupied Golan Heights.
Tel Aviv (QJ) – The Israeli government has overwhelmingly approved a plan presented by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to “promote population growth” in the occupied Golan Heights.
This plan comes in light of the ongoing developments in Syria and aims to double the number of Israelis living in the occupied Syrian territory, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s office.
The plan, which has secured 40 million shekels (over $11 million) in funding, aims to strengthen Israeli settlements, including in Katzrin, through investments in education and renewable energy, and to support the establishment of a student village
“Strengthening the Golan enhances the state of Israel, and it is particularly important at this time. We will continue to hold it, make it prosperous, and settle it,” said Netanyahu.
