Syrian Opposition ousts President Bashar Al-Asad
Damascus (QJ) – The armed opposition forces in Syria have declared that President Bashar al-Assad’s 24-year rule has ended after they captured the capital, Damascus. Russia announced that al-Assad has left Syria and ordered a peaceful transfer of power, though his current whereabouts are unknown.
The opposition groups have imposed a curfew in Damascus from 4 pm (13:00 GMT) to 5 am (02:00 GMT). Abu Mohammed al-Julani, the leader of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, stated that all government institutions will remain under the supervision of al-Assad’s prime minister until a formal transfer of power occurs.
