Somaliland: UCID Leader refutes Presidency Minister’s allegations
Hargeisa, 06 July 2013 (SDN) –— The chairman of Somaliland’s opposition Justice and Welfare party (UCID) Eng. Faisal Ali Warabe has swiftly refuted presidency minister’s claim of labeling him as a traitor to Somaliland, while stressing that the presidency minister must proof his claim.
The remarks by presidency minister Hirsi Ali Haji Hassan which prompted the Justice and Welfare party to refute last night, came in a speech delivered at a the VIP lounge of Berbera’s international airport yesterday prior the departure of high-ranking Somaliland negotiations team to Turkey to hold talks with Somali federal government.
Minister Hirsi’s allegations against UCID leader has drawn the ire of Somaliland people since Faisal is regarded to be a staunch Somaliland nationalist and a thorn in the flesh of Somalia administrations.
Talking to Universal TV last night, Justice and Welfare party leader Eng. Faisal A. Warabe said that the Presidency minister is not mature enough to handle the responsibility of a being a minister, adding that the presidency minister must proof his allegations.
He claimed that the remarks by Presidency Minister Hirsi was an attempt to weaken a national consultation conference he has called which he said is moving towards a decisive turn.
Commenting the stalled talks between Somaliland and Somali federal government in Turkey this week in which UCID leader lost his membership of Somaliland negotiations team Eng. Faisal said that the opposition parties will await the outcome of talks stressing that the outcome of the talks will have no tangible effects.
Virtually, UCID leader Faisal A. Warabe has been consistently under the microscope in recent months for the unprecedented meeting he had with President Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud of Somalia in May this year that created suspicion among Somaliland people and government.
