Somaliland: Two Gov’t Ministers fight at Cabinet Meeting

HARGEISA– The conflict that has impacted on the ruling Kulmiye party is still happening and this has resulted that two government ministers have fought each other during the ministerial meeting which took place at the presidential compound and has been chaired by the sitting president Ahmed Silanyo.

The disagreement which has split Kulmiye party into rivals was high on the agenda on Thursday’s cabinet meeting today according to reports.

The ministers who attended the meeting have put forward the current crisis that the country is faced ranging from the conflict that has broken out within the ruling party, the uprising in Berbera due to the government lease of Berbera Oil Terminal were issues that were raised during the cabinet meeting.

State Finance Minister, Osman Sahardid Adani has fought with Deputy Minister on foreign Affairs, Ahmed Adan Ismail who are endorsing the two mian rival presidential contenders.

The two gov’t ministers have picked up the fight infront of president Silanyo was chairing the ministerial meeting.

The ministers fought over different opinions which led the two officails to fight at the presidential residence.

The presidential campiagn within the ruling party and the rift is so deep that the Head of State cannot end.
