Somaliland Pledges Help for Flood Victims in Puntland-(Video)

Hargeisa, 12 Nov, 2013 (SDN) -Somaliland government has pledged that it will send humanitarian aid to flood victims in Somalia’s autonomous region of Puntland where thousands of people were affected by a tropical cyclone that killed at least 150 people in Puntland.

In a press conference held together today by Somaliland’s ministers of interior and foreign affairs Ali Mohamed Waran’ade and Mohamed Bihi yonis in Maansoor Hotel offered condolences on flood victims and announced that Somaliland government will send aid to those affected by the tropical cyclone.  The minister of interior Ali Mohamed Waran’ade has also warned Somaliland people against the tropical cyclone with heavy rains which is expected to hit coastal and inland regions of Somaliland.

Meanwhile, the president of Somalia’s federal government has on today appealed for international aid to help thousands of people affected by the tropical cyclone

The tropical cyclone brought heavy rains and floods in different areas of Puntland in the past two days that led to the death of at least 150 people and the displacement of thousands of others.
