Somaliland: Office of Somaliland’s Attorney General Ordered Arrest of Journalists

Hargeisa – The editor of the Hubsad Independent Newspaper, Said Khadar and Chairman Mr. Rashid Nur Wa’ays were arrested on Monday on the orders of the Attorney-General.

Both aforementioned independent journalists work for Bulsho Television, which is an independent Channel in Somaliland.

The licence has been bought by an individual and reports indicate that the office of Somaliland attorney general argues that the licence has not been transferred by the new owner.

The publication of the Hubsad paper has been suspended by the government after it was published for three days only.
