Somaliland: Ministry of Finance to Increase 2013 budget

Hargeisa, Aug 10, 2013 (SDN) — Somaliland’s Minister of Finance Mr. Abdilasis Mohamed Samale, for the first time declared that 2013 annual budget forecast would be more than the previous year’s budget.

Mr. Samaale, in an interview with Somaliland National Television confirmed that ministry of finance had succeeded realizing previous year’s national budget forecast.

The minister said, “This year we are planning the finalizing of 2013 annual budget forecast. We are committed to put the concentration on the security forces ranks and additional development programs to be added to the national budget. I am here going to show my gratitude to the staff of the ministry of finance and without them nothing will be achieved and Somaliland community who voluntarily and honestly paid the tax.”

Minister of Finance also told that the president Ahmed Mohamed Silanyo established committee for fiscal and budgetary policy of 2013 as he also did last year.

“The committee recommended historical suggestion. 2013 annual budget information in detail will be represented by the committee appointed by the president as soon as possible” added the Mr. Samaale who succeeded to increase the annual budget since he took power from the former minister of finance Mr. Hashi
