Somaliland: Ministers of Agriculture and Fishery off to Kenya for talks with FAO
HARGEISA– Somaliland delegation from the ministers of Agriculture and Fishery have left for Kenya on working visit today.
The delegation consist of the minister of Agriculture, Abdilahi Ismail Farah, Fishery minister, Ali Jama Farah alias’ Bured”, Assistant minister of fishery, Mohamed Sheikh Adan and Director General of Agricultre ministry, Abdilahi Ismail Farah.
Somaliland ministerial level delegation has received a formal invitation from Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
They are due to hold meetings with organizations based in Nairobi.
Agriculture minister who spoke to the press before leaving from Hargeisa airport told that they will hold talks with FOA on encreasing food production in Somaliland.
The minister has revealed that the trip is about to last for five days and added that they are scheduled to meet with organizations that support food productions.
Fishery minister has told that they will hold talks with African Union and The European Union in which his ministry has working relations.
The gist is to reach a level of food production sustainbility and the talks will be aimed at supporting fish industry in Somaliland.
FAO is supporting Somaliland on Agriculture and Fishery projects.
