Somaliland: Minister Hirsi Labels UCID Chairman as a “Traitor”

Berbera, 05 July 2013 (SDN) –Somaliland’s presidency minister Hirsi Ali Haji Hassan has labeled the Justice and Welfare party (UCID) leader Faisal Ali Warabe as a ‘traitor to Somaliland’ during a press conference in the VIP lounge of Berbera’s  international airport prior the departure of high-ranking Somaliland negotiations team to Turkey to hold talks with Somali federal government. The presidency minister was answering allegations made by UCID chairman Faisal Ali Warabe of excluding him (UCID chairman) from the Somaliland negotiations team heading to Turkey for Somaliland and Somalia talks.

“President Silanyo knows the reasons he excluded UCID chairman Faisal Ali Warabe from the Somaliland negotiations team but as far as a know there was a confusion of whether Faisal is a Somaliland negotiations team member or Somalia negations team member” said minister Hirsi

The presidency minister also said that he has a lot of proof that UCID chairman Faisal A. Warabe is traitor to Somaliland. “I have a lot of proof that Faisal is a traitor because in last round of Somaliland and Somalia talks in Turkey Faisal was lobbying for Somalia negotiators team to get the seven point Ankara Communiqué signed by ministers instead of presidents” he added.

Minister Hirsi also said that UCID chairman’s unprecedented meeting with President Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud of Somalia in Birmingham without the consent of Somaliland government is also a solid proof that Faisal Ali Warabe is a traitor to Somaliland.

In May this year, Eng. Feisal Ali Warabe had a meeting that created suspicion among Somaliland people and government with the Somali president Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud and his Foreign minister Ms Fozia Yusuf Haji Aden in Birmingham, UK.

All in all Eng. Faisal Ali Warabe had made a big about-turn in his political convictions through his meeting of Mogadishu government president.
