Somaliland: Heavy Rains Kill Two in Selel Region

Garbodadar, 13 Nov, 2013 (SDN) -Heavy rains caused by the tropical cyclone have pounded coastal and inland areas of Somaliland killing at least 2 people in Garbodadar town of Salal region. The mayor of Garbodadar Abdi Abdilahi Kaluunle has confirmed to us the death of two persons in the town, an elderly man and a woman. The woman died after a drainage canal collapsed while the other victim was swept away by floods.  The tropical cyclone which hit Somaliland and Somalia brought heavy rains and floods in different areas of country for the last two days. In Puntland the storm claimed the lives of 150 people.
