Somaliland: Hargeisa Regional Court Sentences Local Councilor to Death

Hargeisa, 09 Dec 2013 (SDN) -Hargeisa regional court has sentenced a member of Hargeisa local council to death on Monday for killing his friend after seven months in custody.  Local councilor Mustafe Osman Dahir  turned himself in on May 28 2013 after allegedly shooting his neighbour and friend Abdirashid Adan Warsame in Hargeisa.

The deceased, Abdirashid Aden Warsame (Abdirashid Dheere ) , was from the same community of the Councillor and belonged to the people of Eastern Hargeisa.

Councillor Mustafe Osman was elected from UMADDA political association, one of the political associations who failed to qualify as a political party during last year’s local elections.
