Somaliland: Gov’t set to pardon Sultan Wabar
HARGEISA– It is now confirmed that President of Somaliland His Excellency, Ahmed M. Silanyo has officially accepted to issue a presidential decree pardon to the dissident Sulatn Wabar.
This comes after elders from Borama and next kin to Sultan Wabar who formed People’s Liberation Front(PLF) have met with president Silanyo appealing him to give him amnesty.
The president of the republic has turned down an other formal request which will see Sultan Wabar’s soldiers be integrated into the national defense forces.
The president has refused to accept that officials from Somaliland government should escort Sultan Wabar back to his home town.
The gov’t has rejected that there will not be a rally in support of the return of the traditional leader, Sultan Wabar.
It is also confirmed that instead of being welcomed that Sultan Wabar and his loyal soldiers should surrender to the national army in the border areas.
Once they lay down their arms that home affairs minister, Ali Waranade should hold joint press conference in Borama.
It was just recently when Ethiopia put pressure on Sultan Wabar to leave her soil after it entered into agreement with Somaliland which calls that both countries should not harbor insurgency rebels in their soil.
