Somaliland delegation in Nairobi grilled by donor countries
NAIROBI—- Ministerial level delegation who are on working visit to Nairobi have met with some of the ambassadors that are based in Kenya’s capital.
The delegation consisting of foreign minister, health minister and head of Somaliland’s constitutional court.
The delegation was grilled about the failure of law enforcement agencies in Sanaag to arrest police officer who was accused of causing instability in Erigavo.
Somaliland delegation was also questioned over the conflict that impacted on the political national parties in Somaliland.
It appears now that the biggest concern to the international community is the stability, security and tranquility in Somaliland.
The police officer who was implicated of bring cache of weapons to Erigavo and later clashed with police.
The delegation was also asked about the whereabouts of the police man and if he links with extremist groups the likes of Daaish and Al Shabab.
When it comes to political conflict that erupt within political parties might have huge setback to Somaliland’s democratization process.
The foreign based ambassadors that Somaliland delegation met with also raised concerns over the dispute that erupted within Justice and Welfare party (UCID).
They told that they wanted to see the election of presidential contenders should be in a democratic way.
