Somaliland Civil Society Groups to Evaluate International Aid

Hargeisa, Aug 9, 2013 (SDN) — Somaliland civil society groups have started evaluating the extent, efficiency, and the backwards of international aid given to Somaliland by the International community for the first time.

Somaliland Non state Actors (SONSAF) created 6 members committee from Somaliland civil society to evaluate the impact and how international aid is based on the priorities of the needs of Somaliland people.

A discussion meeting regarding the role, responsibility and tasks of the 6 members committee was held at Summer Time hotel on the beginning of this week and was attended by representatives from civil society groups, members from universities, government officials and other distinguished guests.

“The committee for evaluating international aid is one of 4 committees that SONSAF Umbrella established to go with country’s issues and are including; committee for enforcing democracy affairs; committee for safeguarding environment and Committee for peace and building the nation.
