Somaliland: Angry Residents in Erigavo Take to the Streets
ERIGAVO– At least four civilians injured in Erigavo, Sanaag’s regional town after police tried to capture police officer today.
The police officer is alleged that he brought illegal weapons and ammunitions into the town although it was difficult for the police to verify it.
Residents in Erigavo who were furious over the aborted capture of police officer resulted them to take into the streets.
Reports coming from Erigavo indicate that the protesters have blocked major town roads.
Gunshots could be heard in the city as police have tried to disperse the crowd.
It is a total failure for the police not to arrest the office who is at the heart of the twon.
He is suspected of having weapons and ammunitions brought into the town.
