Somalia’s Interior Minister Visits Somaliland

Hargeisa, Aug 04, 2013 (SDN) -Somalia’s Minister of the Interior and National Security, Abdikarim Hussein Guleid arrived in the capital Hargeisa on Yesterday, the highest level Somali visit to Somaliland since the country reaffirmed its independence from the rest of Somalia in 1991. Somalia’s interior minister arrived in the country through Berbera international airport and was received by members of the cabinet. Abdikarim Hussein Guleid was the head of Somalia’s delegation during the latest round of Somalia and Somaliland talks in Istanbul where the two countries agreed to jointly-administer Somaliland and Somalia’s airspace after receiving full control from The United Nations. The Technical Committee will base its office in Hargeisa, Somaliland; and, are expected to have an equal revenue-sharing scheme. Somaliland government has yet commented yet about the reasons behind the visit of Somalia’s interior minister.
