Somalia to Eradicate Polio
Mogadishu September 18, 2024 (QJ) -The Director of the Family Health Department at the Ministry of Health and Social Care of the Federal Government of Somalia has concluded the decentralization conference on the Polio Eradication Plan at the regional administration level, organized by the Ministry of Health, particularly the Family Health Department.
The conference was attended by department directors from the Ministry of Health and Social Care of the Federal Government of Somalia, general directors of the health ministries of the Federal Member States, doctors, representatives from health organizations operating in the country, and other distinguished guests.
The Polio Eradication Plan is a national strategy critical to the Somali community and is part of strengthening vaccination, polio campaign efforts, and health goals being pursued by the Ministry of Health and Social Care of the Federal Government of Somalia.
The Ministry of Health and Social Care of the Federal Government of Somalia has stated that it is making extra efforts to ensure that the Somali community, wherever they are, receives comprehensive health services, particularly ensuring that Somali children always have access to polio vaccination.
