Somali president sacks Mogadishu mayor

MOGADISHU-President of Somalia, Hasan Sheikh Mohamud has today sacked Mogadishu Mayor  who was the governor of Banadir, Mohamed Husein Mungab.

The dismissal of the mayor has been confirmed by Villa Somalia’s spokesperson, Daud Aweys.

According to president’s spokesman Mr. Aweys told that the president has appointed Yusuf Husein Jimale as the new mayor of Mogadishu.

The press statement has not addressed the reasons for his sacking as far as the situation is concerned..

A conflict broke out between Mungab and Internal security minister.

Mungab has refused to allow roads aimed at blocking for reasons pertaining to security.
