Somali President inaugurated in Muqdisho,first since 1991

Mogadisho(SDN)-A new Somali president was inaugurated in the capital Mogadisho after years of successive transitional bodies has been put together in the neighboring countries.

Hassan Sheikh Mohamud was elected by Somali Parliament last week in Mogadisho amidst security worries.

The new Presidents election comes at the end of a UN sponsors set of peace building initiative.

The new president said on his inauguration that his government would focus on security, unity and economic improvement.

The president in the first week of his election a suicide bomber targeted his office,but survived.

Somalia did not have a central government since the collapse of the Siad Bare’s regime in 1991.
