Somali police chief dies of heart attack

Somalia Inspector General of Police, General Mohamed Sheikh Hassan Ismail has died of a heart attack.Police sources confirmed in Mogadishu on Thursday evening that Ismail collapsed and died soon after complaining of heart complications.

He was said to have complained about his heart for months and was planning to go for medical check abroad.

The Somali government had appointed Ismail as police chief in July and was widely praised for improving security in the capital Mogadishu since then.
