Somali Embassy’s European Visa Sale Confirmed

Allegations of European visa sale for human trafficking against the Somali Embassy in Geneva has been confirmed by both the Somalia’s Ministry of Labor and Social Services and the Federations of Somali Trade Unions on Sunday, amid the Somali Ministry of Labor has been blocked from attending the ILO Geneva conference.

The blockade came after the Somali Ministry of Labor and Social services communicated the Somalia delegations to the ILO, which was later turned down, after the visas were brokered in a black market between ILO staff members and the Somali Ambassador in Geneva selling each approximately $15000, according to theRBC Radio.

The General Directorate of the Somali Ministry of Labor confirmed the existence of the visa sale on behalf of the Somalia delegates for the conference.

Similar ordeals of visa sales or other serious corruptions happen annually at the international conferences, but the officials in charge such scandals such as Yusuf Mohamed Ismail, the Somali Ambassador in Geneva or those in the ILO facilitating such corruption are never accounted for.
