SNA and AS forces clash in Gedo region

Luq July 18, 2024 (QJ) -The Somali National Army and the Police Force conducted operations against Al-Shabaab in the area between Shatalow and the town of Luq in the Gedo region.

During the operation, military officers reported inflicting casualties on Al-Shabaab members present in the operational area.

The operation was led by Colonel Abdirashid Mohamed Osman, the Commander of the 43rd Division of the National Army, Major Adam Siyad Abdi, the Commander of the 10th Brigade of the 43rd Division in Gedo region, and Colonel Hussein Ali Hashi Giif, the Police Commander of the Gedo region.

Additionally, the officers reported significant progress in their fight against Al-Shabaab, taking control of positions previously held by the group.
