Saturday the deadliest day in Gaza

Gaza June 09, 2024(QJ) – Saturday was reported as the deadliest day in Gaza since mid-December, with 283 people killed, according to Gaza’s Ministry of Health on Sunday. This brings the total number of fatalities in the ongoing conflict in Gaza to 37,084, as reported by the ministry.

The majority of those killed on Saturday died during a surprise operation by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) aimed at rescuing four Israeli hostages in the central Gaza town of Nuseirat.

This operation resulted in the deaths of 274 Palestinians and injuries to 698 others, the Gaza Ministry of Health reported on Sunday.

Palestinian civilians described the central Gaza area as “hell on earth” during the Israeli operation, with footage showing children covered in blood rushing to emergency rooms.

In addition, nine other people were killed, and 116 were injured elsewhere in Gaza over the past 24 hours, the health ministry stated.
