Prime Minister condemns brutal murder of Lower Shabelle elders by Al-Shabaab

His Excellency Prime Minister Abdiweli Sheikh Ahmed, today condemned the brutal murder of eight elders from Lower Shabelle.

Prime Minister Abdiweli Sheikh Ahmed, said:

“I send my personal condolences to the families and communities of the elders brutally murdered by terrorists. These elders were a pillar of strength and wisdom within the community and their loss will be deeply felt.

“Al-Shabaab has once again shown their true colours by murdering eight of our well respected and loved elders. Al-Shabaab claim to be Muslims but they are attempting to destroy the religion, our culture, the social fabric of our communities and the economy.

“These murders will not derail us, they only serve to unite us stronger in the fight to finish Al-Shabaab.”
