President Silanyo Appoints National Committee to Combat Illegal Immigration

Hargeisa, Jun 24, 2013 (SDN) –Somaliland President Ahmed Mohamed Mahmoud (Silanyo) has appointed anti-migration and job creation committee to counter the rising trend of illegal immigration among Somaliland youth and to finds ways and means to create employment opportunities.

In statement issued by president Silanyo last night said that the committee has full mandate of finding ways to stop this scourge of illegal immigration which has taken its toll  the lives of many of youths but also to come up with innovative means to create employment to thousands of educated youth. The statement also added that Mr. Mahmoud Ahmed Bare Garaad will be the head of the committee.

The National Committee will consist of the following officials:-

1.       Minister of Labor and Social Affairs

2.      Minister of Sports, Youth and Tourism

3.      Minister of Internal Affaires

4.      Minister of Information, Culture and National Guidance

5.       Minister of National Planning and Development

6.      Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs

7.       Minister of Religious Affairs
