PM Hamza: financing Al-Shabaab is a major crime punishable by law.

Mogadishu (QJ) – The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia,  Hamza Abdi Barre, stated that the money given to Al-Shabaab is a threat to religion, security, society, and governance, and encourages the shedding of Somali citizens’ blood.

Speaking at the Government, Business, and Community Partnership Conference on the Plan to Prevent and Combat Al-Shabaab Financing, he emphasized that any involvement in financing Al-Shabaab is a major crime punishable by law.

“The time has come for our conscience to be active, the time to come out of humiliation. We must repel the Khawarij ( Al-Shabaab), and the people must come out to truly free ourselves from the enemy.”

Prime Minister Hamza also called on the Somali people to support the government in eradicating Al-Shabaab and those who finance them, warning businesspeople against aiding the enemy in harming the Somali people.
