Open Letter: The Government Order to Block The Leaders of UCID Party to Visit Gabiley

Ottawa, 04 Dec 2013 (SDN) -Somaliland Watch Group (SWG) a diaspora based group has written a letter to Somaliland government expressing concerns about government order to block the leaders of UCID party to visit Gabiley. The letter is addressed to Somaliland president Ahmed Mohamed Mohamoud “Silaanyo”.

Subject: the government order to block the leaders of UCID party to visit Gabiley!

 

 

Somaliland Watch deplores the blocking of UCID officials to visit Gabiley.

This organization sees this government action absurd and a mortal strike to the rights of citizens to move freely in their home land.

It is counter productive to the practice of democracy.

It is a provocation against certain personalities and the opposition parties.

It is unwise act.

It is a de-stabilizing act.

It is a way of instigating a civil war in a peaceful Somaliland.

 

The people of Gabiley reported to this organization that they are disgusted and rejecting this ill-considered act. That they are not privy to this ill-thought and destructive action of using the police to block the free movement of targeted officials (Madam Fatumu Said and Jamal, the Presidential candidate of the party) of a political party.

We are calling the President to right this wrong as soon as possible, for the sake of peace and stability.
