Most of Somaliland/ Somalia Talks Committee Have Resigned from Government
The Somaliland/Somalia talk committee who had represented the government of Somaliland in the talks have either resigned their government posts or do not see eye to eye with president Silanyo in many political issues concerning policy with exception of only one committee member who still serves in government.
The committee comprised members of the cabinet, lawmakers from the upper house of parliament (Guurti) and legislators from the lower House of Representatives have all left the committee only the vice chairman of the Guurti Hon. Said Jama Ali remains in the committee. The committee that attended the last meeting in Turkey have either resigned or do not drink the same cup of tea as president Silanyo.
Some of the committee members’ names are as follows
Mr. Mohammed Bihi Yonis (Former Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Minister)
Mr. Hirsi) Ali Haji Hassan (Former Minister in the Office of the President)
Mr.Geedole (Former Minister of Education)
Mr.Abdi Aw Dahir (Former Minister of Social Services)
Mr. Bashe Mohammed Farah (Deputy Speaker Parliament)
Mr.Ahmed Abdinoor Kijandhe (Foreign Affairs Committee of House of Representatives)
Many members of this committee resigned their post in government when they sensed that the recent executive committee meeting of the ruling party was biased towards one candidate. These resignations are going to impact negatively on the talks at those who will replace the former negotiators will not know where to start from.
