Military justice trapped in Dolow Airport

Mogadishu Feb 27, 2023 (QJ) – An armed conflict that took place today at the airport in Dolow district in Gedo region has resulted in casualties.

According to reports, the conflict started when armed militias attacked the Dolow airport during a hearing of a case related to a police detective who is accused of killing a suspect in a murder case.

The case was heard at the airport by the Chairman of the Court of Armed Forces of Somalia, Col. Shuute, and other officers who went there to prosecute this case.

A government officer named Mohamed Hussein Abdullahi (Ganey) who was the head of security at Dolow Airport was killed in the battle, while several others were injured.

The situation is now calm, although there is tension in the vicinity of the Dolow airport, which according to some reports has Col. Shute and the accompanying officers trapped.
